Our Story

We build little houses.
They build something bigger.

ItemsBox started the way most good things do — without much of a plan. A flat sheet of cardboard, a craft knife, and a quiet evening in Klaipėda, Lithuania, when “let’s see if I can make this” turned into a finished house on the kitchen table by morning.

Why We Exist

Everything's ready-made now.
We make you build it.

Look around and almost everything’s been shortened on the way to you. Dinner that only needs reheating. Roofs that arrive already assembled. Lawns grown somewhere else and rolled out like carpet. Even most “build it yourself” kits hand you a finished design and ask you to follow it to the letter.

We started wondering: in all that shortening, where’s the room left to be curious? To choose, to get something a little wrong, to fix it with your own hands?

That question is the whole reason ItemsBox exists. A cardboard house kit is a small, deliberately old-fashioned thing — a flat sheet that asks for your patience instead of saving you from it.

The Process

Building is the point.
Not just the result.

Cut. Fold. Glue. Wait for it to hold. There’s nothing fast about it, and that’s exactly why it works. The same attention it takes to get a window edge straight is the kind of attention that’s hard to come by most places these days.

It’s also why our kits turn up somewhere you might not expect — therapy rooms, classrooms, care homes — anywhere that benefits from a quiet, low-pressure hour of hands-on work. Building solo with a cup of tea, or building with three generations around one table — the process is the same either way: small, deliberate steps toward something you made yourself.

“When creativity becomes therapy – small details, big discoveries.”

Make It Yours

Every village looks a little different.
So does every builder.

A name over the door. A roof painted the “wrong” color on purpose. Houses mixed across collections until the shelf looks like nobody else’s. We design the kits to be finished by you, not for you — the gaps are where the project turns personal.

Building for a classroom, a care group, a therapy session, or a corporate gift? We also put together personalized and bulk kits sized for groups. Tell us what you’re building toward, and we’ll help you figure out the fit.
