People often ask us how the custom packaging process works — how long it takes, what they need to provide, how much it costs, and what they get at the end. The honest answer is that it depends on the project, but the process itself follows a clear structure that we have refined over years of making everything from individual gift boxes to large production runs of branded product packaging.
Here is what actually happens from the moment you contact us to the moment your boxes arrive.

Step 1: The conversation
Every custom order starts with a conversation, not a form. We ask about the product — what is it, what are the dimensions, how heavy is it, how will it be shipped. We ask about the quantity and the timeline. We ask about any design or branding requirements and what the end customer experience should feel like.
This is the most important part of the process. Custom packaging cannot be made well without understanding the product it is made for. A box for a glass candle needs different construction to a box for a wooden toy, a tea set, or a phone case. We have made all of those things, and each required a different approach to structure, board weight, and insert design.
Step 2: Technical drawing and die-line preparation
Once we understand the brief, we prepare or adapt a technical drawing — the die-line — that specifies the exact cut lines, score lines, and fold geometry of the box. This is where the structural decisions are made: the closure type (tuck-end, auto-bottom, lid-and-base, magnetic, sleeve), the dimensions, the flap overlaps, and how the box will behave when assembled.
If you already have a die-line from a previous supplier or from your own designer, we can work from that. If you need one built from scratch based on your product dimensions, we do that as part of the project.
Step 3: Sample production
Before anything goes into full production, we produce a physical sample. This is a critical step that some suppliers skip in the interest of speed — we do not. A sample allows you to test the fit on your actual product, check the opening and closing mechanism, verify that the insert holds the product as intended, and sign off on the construction before we commit to a run.
For print projects, we produce a printed proof that shows how the artwork sits on the finished structure, including how it wraps around corners and how colours appear on the chosen board.
Step 4: Production
Once the sample is approved, production begins. For most standard custom orders, lead times are two to three weeks depending on volume and finishing requirements. We will give you a specific timeline at the start of the project and keep you updated if anything changes.
Step 5: Delivery
Finished boxes are packed carefully for transit and shipped to your address in Lithuania or internationally. For larger orders, we can arrange collection from our workshop at Pilies g. 14, Klaipėda.
What makes our boxes worth the investment
We are not the cheapest option for custom packaging, and we do not try to be. What we offer is quality construction, honest consultation, and the kind of attention to detail that comes from a workshop that cares about what it produces. We produce samples before committing to runs, we advise against specs that will not work, and we stand behind the finished product.
